Perplexity replaces Google Search and Apple News for me
My Switch
Perplexity AI replaced both Google Search and Apple News in my daily routine.
Real-time data makes the difference, as I can ask about yesterday's Oscars and get current information immediately. Perplexity synthesizes content while still showing sources — doing what search engines are supposed to do, but faster.
Traditional search always felt clunky: keyword queries returning pages of links that need manual filtering. Perplexity delivers:
- Direct, synthesized answers without endless scrolling
- Source attribution for transparency
- A conversational interface that handles follow-up questions naturally
The "Discover" feature replaced Apple News for me. Without an Apple One subscription, I constantly hit paywalls when trying to read articles. Perplexity's Discover provides a curated feed of current events without those barriers. It offers enough depth while keeping the option to dig deeper.
I became a Pro subscriber. I never expected to pay for an AI search platform, but Perplexity found the balance between depth and accessibility that most information tools miss.
